GLAUCOMA SCREENING
Glaucoma is the second leading cause of preventable blindness in the world.  We screen all our patients for early detection by checking your eye pressure.  We dislike the "Puff test" as much as you do, so we have an alternative way to measure intraocular pressure. The iCARE tonometer is fast and painless!

THE OPTOMAP RETINAL EXAM
This state of the art instrument helps us view the back of the eye and is suitable for the whole family.  Typically, this replaces the use of dilation drops where you become sensitive to light and blurry. You simply look into the device one eye at a time (like looking through keyhole) and you will see a flash of light to let you know that the image of the retina is taken. It takes less than a second and the images are available immediately for review. You will see your own retina and have no side effects! Now, you will see exactly what the optometrist sees - even in a 3D animation!

We highly recommend this procedure if you have a history of the following:

  • Diabetes (for any bleed or lack of oxygen)
  • High Prescription (for any thinning or tears)
  • Glaucoma (for any optic nerve changes)
